Certificate of Special Recognition Award

Each year the Missouri League for Nursing (MLN) selects an individual or individuals who have made an impact on nursing or health care to receive the MLN Certificate of Special Recognition Award. This award is presented to honor an individual or group who is engaged in a field of health care, whose contribution is unique, of a pioneering nature, and of such excellence as to merit state recognition.

Criteria for eligibility

  • Nominee must be engaged in activities to promote quality health care.
  • Nominee must have demonstrated creative methods in practice, education, or research.
  • The nominee's contribution must have a positive impact on the health of the citizens of their community.
  • The nominee's contribution should be above and beyond the individual's job responsibilities.
  • The nominee's contribution must be of such excellence as to merit MLN recognition.

Any member of the MLN, a group of two or more members, or a faculty of a school of nursing or the staff of a nursing service with agency membership in the MLN or NLN may submit nominations.

Nominations should be submitted to the MLN office utilizing the MLN Certificate of Special Recognition Award Nominee Form and must be postmarked no later than March 1st.
